Volunteer Facilitator
Educating The Children Foundation, The Innovation Village, Ntinda, 2022
In this role, I taught and mentored young women to develop foundational skills in web development, helping them become employable and inspiring them to pursue careers in technology.
My teaching focused on practical, hands-on skills, including:
Introduction to HTML: Building structured, accessible web pages.
Introduction to CSS: Styling web pages to create responsive and visually appealing designs.
Introduction to JavaScript: Adding interactivity and dynamic content to web applications.
Introduction to Node.js: Developing simple server-side applications and understanding the backend workflow.
Beyond technical instruction, I guided students in building portfolios, understanding industry expectations, and preparing for job opportunities, helping many of them secure internships and entry-level positions in tech. Through mentorship, coding exercises, and real-world projects, I empowered learners to gain confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and envision long-term careers in technology.
Skills and technologies used: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, curriculum development, mentorship, teaching, career guidance, portfolio building.
